The personal solution concept has made Invita one of Denmark’s leading suppliers of kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms and wardrobe closets. The concept on which the company was founded has proven itself day in and day out for more than three decades.
In 1974, Leif Nygård of Central Jutland was wondering. The economy was weak, but standard home construction was still strong.
Standard Homes, but no Standard People
All the new homes obviously needed kitchens. But Nygård found it strange that the many new home-owners could buy only standard kitchens. There was no other option.
”No two people, no two families and no two homes are the same,” he thought. ”So why should the kitchens be all the same?”
His response was ’The Personal Kitchen’ concept of kitchens tailored to fit the space and the people who live in it. At Invita, we still call it ‘The Personal Kitchen’ because we have yet to meet a standard person.
Growing Pains in Bording
He located the factory for the manufacturing of the personalized kitchens on his home turf in Bording between Silkeborg and Ikast. Steadily growing numbers of highly qualified craftsmen and consultants have helped ever growing numbers of customers find their own personal kitchen and bathroom solutions ever since.
The initially small factory has been expanded repeatedly over the years. Invita stores are all over the country and even abroad. The little company in Mid-Jutland has grown to be Denmark’s third largest manufacturer of kitchen, bathroom, laundry-room and wardrobe closet solutions. More than 500 employees in the stores and the Bording facility work daily to create personal solutions for the customers.
The company philosophy is still the same: An Invita solution must be individual and custom-made. Leif Nygård is still the company CEO.
Invita is owned by Nobia AB of Sweden, the largest kitchen manufacturer in Europe with 20 kitchen brands.
